Cai Feng
Director-General, Third Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources
Professor, Ph.D, Ph.D supervisor. Born in 1965, Cai Feng started his career in 1989, and is mainly engaged in research on coastal and seafloor topography, coastal zone protection and management as well as beach protection and restoration. He has served successively as deputy director of the Laboratory of Coastal and Marine Geology of TIO, and director-general of Island Research Center, State Oceanic Administration. Cai Feng has held the position of director-general since August 2017, fully responsible for the administrative and business work of TIO; he has also shared responsibility for the international cooperation affairs and publicity work of TIO, and been in charge of the Foreign Affairs Office.
Also Managing Director of China Association of Oceanic Engineering, Director of Fujian Oceanic Society, member of the Standing Committee of the 11th, 12th and 13th Fujian Provincial People's Congress; expert enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council. Cai Feng has successively directed 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two national marine public welfare projects, and 10 national special investigation tasks. He has published more than 100 papers in domestic and international journals, four monographs and two translations. He was awarded one top award, one first prize, one gold award and two second prizes as the first accomplisher at the provincial and ministerial scientific research and engineering technology award.
